Customer Questions & Answers

Question:

How is it mounted to the door frame?

Answer:

It comes with velcro that you attach around the door to hold it in place. This also allows you to take it down if you don’t want it up. Velcro holds really well. I’ve had other screens like this previously and the Velcro didn’t hold well and the screen would start to fall down. This hasn’t happened with this screen. Much better quality.

Question:

Will this keep my cat from entering a room? I do not want to always close a door. And he will just jump over a gate. Thanks

Answer:

I think it could. However, if the cat is determined and strong, it could possibly separate the magnets. Or if the door doesn’t fit tightly, go under. Also, the cat might climb it.

Question:

I have read different reviews on the sizing. Should I order the exact size of our door (30") or add the 2" like some people have posted?

Answer:

I myself ordered the exact size and it fit perfectly but I'm sure if it's a little bit longer it should still work.

Question:

Aside from saving money and installation time, is there any benefit to this over an actual screen door?

Answer:

I like it because I have dogs and it allows them to go in and out at will. I have a doggie door in my door but would need to have a special made screen to fix it exactly so the dogs can get through both doors. This was an easier and chreaper alternative.

Question:

can this be used on french doors?

Answer:

I don’t see why not. If the french doors open out, place the screen on the inside. If they open in, install the screen on the outside of the door frame. I love mine.

Question:

What side of the screen is the windproof hook and loop on? My door frame is on the outside and my door opens in.

Answer:

If your door opens in, this is perfect. It fits on the outside of the door frame. Most people's exterior doors open in, so you hang it on the outside of the frame. I guess if you have a sliding door, you can hang it on either side. But mine are on the exterior frame.

Question:

Is this weighted at the bottom at to keep it taught and in place?

Answer:

Yes it has just the right amount of weight for it to close all by itself it works great .

Question:

Would this be strong enough to keep birds out also? We have a cooking shed and so far I have had to save 2 red finch and 1 hummingbird.

Answer:

My cats go in and out of it, but I'm feel certain that finches or hummingbirds would not be able to push it open. The magnets are very strong.
